Description: 12 Mo. Signed by Author 78 pp. plus index. Signed and inscribed by the author, dated December 5, 1889. Rare copy of a unique book describing the different ways a "man" might be employed, including owning a shop. Blue cloth with gold gilt on cover and spine. Head and tail of spine are slightly worn. Corners are slightly rubbed. Minor foxing. One of the earliest books about business. The preface reflects the gender bias of the time: "Every father expects his boy to be a success, and every mother expects her daughter to marry a man who is a success."
